While not technically movie news, we have to give some attention to the upcoming seventh season of Doctor Who. Hour-long episodes that are cinematic in scope, and one of the best sci-fi shows in recent memory that has really hit its stride, the current incarnation of the last Time Lord has some dark days ahead of him.
Let’s watch, shall we?
The latest season will see the Doctor bid farewell to his long-time travelling companions, the Ponds, as they have one final showdown with the quite possibly the creepiest of all Doc Who creatures, the Weeping Angels, paving the way for a new series regular played by Jenna-Louse Coleman.
The Daleks return, and showrunner and head writer Steven Moffat has confirmed that a classic series monster will also return in one episode. As for guest stars, expect David Bradley, Rupert Graves and Mark Williams to appear, fighting some sort of alien menace in the process, as the show builds up some steam for the 50th anniversary that is coming in 2013.
14 episodes, dinosaurs in space, laser-gun wielding old west cowboys and a mad man in a blue box. Geronimo!
