When it comes to Michael Bay, the man has a name that is synonymous with explosions and racist robot caricatures. But for all the fun that we have at his expense, it’s sometimes easy to forget that his films, on a technical level, are some of the most exciting and lavish spectacles around.
But the master Baysploder has been busy filming giant robots for a little too long now, which is why Paramount allowed him to create something else, in the interim between the upcoming fourth film, with a little pain and gain.
Based on a tale of bodybuilders wh drop the weights and decide to bench some extortion, kidnapping, murder and torture, the Bay flick will now be releasing in late April, in the states. And to celebrate that, there’s a new poster showing off the essential powder that keeps the fitness junkies at your local gym in front of a mirror, as they stand transfixed at the image of themselves lifting weights.
Pain and Gain stars Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson as the burly kidnappers who get in over their heads, with Anthony Mackie, Ed Harris, Rob Corddry, Ken Jeong, Tony Shalhoub, and Bar Paly joining the party as well.
