This may be the last big marketing push for Katheryn Bigelow’s Zero Dark Thirty before its limited release on December 19 and then then international release on January 11, but expect to be hearing about it a lot in the coming months. Seriously, a lot. It’s already been taking down the smaller awards like a well coordinated SEAL team, and will soon have the major awards shows in it’s crosshairs,
As such, this final trailer is ready to breach your senses with a double-tap of explosive visuals and haunting musical score.
For a decade, an elite team of intelligence and military operatives, working in secret across the globe, devoted themselves to a single goal: to find and eliminate Osama bin Laden. Zero Dark Thirty reunites the Oscar(R) winning team of director-producer Kathryn Bigelow and writer-producer Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker) for the story of history’s greatest manhunt for the world’s most dangerous man.
Now that’s a great trailer! Well paced, delivers the shots but not revealing too much – although I’m pretty sure all of us know how this story turns out, unless Bigelow throws in a surprise twist Scooby Doo ending – and then there’s that eerie kids choir rendition of Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters”. Jeez, that makes me want to vote for Obama.
The film has already garnered awards for best director for Bigelow, best lead actress for Jessica Chastain plus a host of other technical awards, and I expect that trend to definitely continue as we hit the big three shows in Screen Actors Guild Awards, Golden Globes and the Academy Awards.

I think that cover song is by Scala. They did a similar thing with Radiohead’s Creep which was used in the Social Network trailer
