I’ve got a confession to make, and I don’t feel ashamed about it. I’m a Seth McFarlane fan. I have been since the first time Peter Griffin fell flat on his face after licking a rum & raisin ice-cream, all the way through to when a foul-mouthed teddy bear that was hanging out with Marky Mark…and I’m pretty sure I will for a long time yet to come. Ah, that feels good to get off my chest. Well, following on the success of Ted, McFarlane’s new feature film project A Million Ways To Die In The West is in its already underway at the moment and more casting news has already started to trickle in…

We previously reported that Charlize Theron has joined the cast and that McFarlane will play the lead role himself, and it seems like Amandy Seyfried is set to join as well, playing the role of McFarlane’s girlfriend.

For those of you living under a rock, here’s the official synopsis from Empire Online:

A Million Ways To Die In The West follows a luckless, sheepish farmer (MacFarlane) who chickens out when a gunfight erupts on his property. Annoyed at his singular lack of spine, his girlfriend (Seyfried, if she signs on) ditches him.

In an attempt to win her back, he makes a deal with the wife (Theron) of a notorious outlaw, to get shooting lessons and try to win the girlfriend back. But that causes trouble when he starts getting closer to the sharp-shooting woman, particularly when her husband reappears.

That does sound like quite a lot of fun, doesn’t it? As an actress, Seyfried has come a long way as well. She built her early career on playing ditzy high-school girls but quickly reinvented herself in one of Hollywood’s go-to actresses, but I’m glad that she isn’t scared to go back into comedy. After all, how else would would we know that there is a 30% chance that it is already raining?

We have at least another year of waiting before we’ll be able to see A Million Ways To Die In The West but with the scribes from Ted on duty (Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild) and McFarlane behind the wheel, I am pretty confident that we are in for something special…and something hilarious.
