Ed Skrein will star in THE TRANSPORTER reboot

There aren’t too many movie trilogies that are solid all the way through, but one of the exceptions to that rule has to be The Transporter. Three films, each one boasting tight action and enough car stunt porn to impregnate a blue whale were the hallmarks of this franchise.

One TV series later, and it looks like The Transporter is headed back to the silver screen. But don’t expect Jason Statham to explain the rules of the road in this new film.

Ed “Game of Thrones” Skrein will be taking over from Statham in the EuropaCaorp reboot according to Variety. “We searched everywhere to find a fresh face who had the potential to become an action movie star and we’ve found the right match with Ed Skrein, who’s not only a great actor but also has enough charisma and physical stamina to play Frank Martin with brio,” EuropaCorp CEO Christophe Lambert said.

According to sources, the next Transporter film will once again return to the French Riviera, and will explore the relationship between getaway driver Martin and his dear old dad. Camille “Brick Mansions” Delamarre directs, with Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp putting up $30 million for the budget.

That’ll buy you a fair bit of car carnage and action when the filming kicks off in June.
