007 could have his hands full with the villain of BOND 24

If there’s one thing missing from the modern era of James Bond movies, it’s covert organizations with mandatory white cats and a villain who is a match for Bond in more ways than one. Skyfall’s Silva may have been an unrelenting madman with an axe to grind, but he wasn’t exactly a physical match for 007. Now pay attention, because this next bit of news is important.

With the franchise finally able to meet that comfortable point between traditional and modern, it looks like one other Bond tradition is making a comeback: Namely, a decent henchman who can give the MI6 agent a good blikseming when director Sam Mendes starts rolling.

Per MI6:

Casting has begun for the main assassin, with the search specifically focussed on someone extremely physically fit and over 6′ 2″. Whoever wins the role will have several altercations with Daniel Craig’s 007 throughout the film and also a driving sequence. Former sports athletes will be under consideration along with anyone ‘very unusual’. The character has the working name of ‘Hinx’ (which may change before shooting starts) and is said to be between 30 and 45 years old.

Oddjob and Jaws were rather memorable Bond villains, and it’s a shame that Daniel Craig’s run has yet to create a truly formidable foe. That’s not to say that Javier Bardem didn’t do a good job in Skyfall, but a Bond villain should have more up his sleeve than maniacal revenge and flirtation techniques.

So who would you like to see get the role?
