Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will kick off it’s third season in little over a month (29 September – are we there yet?!) and already looks to be losing some characters – although instead of Tripp’ing to their death they could be spinning off to their own show.

We told you before that home network ABC were looking at a potential AoS spin-off headlined by Adrianne Palicki (Bobbi Morse aka Mockingbird) and Nick Blood (Lance Hunter aka Snarky McBritishPants), but now it’s confirmed. ABC have (via THR) issued a pilot order for a spin-off show titled Marvel’s Most Wanted to be headed by the above-mentioned pair. Current AoS producer Jeffrey Bell and writer Paul Zbyszewski, along with Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb, are attached to the project. No other details have yet been released.

At the time it was first mentioned I wasn’t convinced a spin-off series was warranted, now though it might just work out quite well. When it first began airing AoS was pitched as not being particularly super powered, but following the events of season two that’s clearly changed with the reveal of the Inhumans – and Skye being revealed as one herself.

At the end of season 2 Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) gave Skye (Chloe Bennet) aka Daisy Johnson aka Quake the green light to recruit super powered individuals, so there’s room for a spin-off show focusing on puny humans and their spy shenanigans – which would be perfect for Palicki and Blood; while also making room in an extended AoS cast for new regulars like the Inhuman Lincoln Campbell (Luke Mitchell) aka I don’t actually know – going with Sparkles for now.

What do you think? Would you enjoy a spin-off series featuring these characters, and possibly interweaving with AoS?
