Conspiracy theories, government cover-ups and all things paranormal are some of the ingredients that made The X-Files one of the most popular series on television. Throw in the cynical Fox Mulder and his skeptical partner Dana Scully and you have a serious cult following for what was a truly great show!

I consider myself one of those big fans of The X-Files, so when news came out about the show making a return to our screens 13 years later, I became very excited! One of the biggest questions I had was would we be seeing the return of David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson? The pair have been enjoying good success since the show last aired and of course there was the feature film The X-Files : I Want To Believe, which I really wanted to believe would be awesome. But it wasn’t.

Luckily this first full trailer for The X-Files revival is though. The trailer aired in two parts during this week’s episode of Gotham over in the US, and somebody has conveniently ripped them both for us to check out. The first part isn’t the best quality but still worth the watch. UPDATE: The official trailer has now been released and is embedded below.

That Mulder just cant let things be! The story seems to pick up 13 years on from the last X-Files saga and it would seem that Mulder has continued to dig into the mysteries better left unknown. He is so close to figuring it all out, but of course he will need the help of his old friend and confidant Scully.

As you can see there will be a healthy return of the original cast members, including Mitch Pileggi as Walter Skinner and William B. Davis as The Smoking Man.

So will Mulder’s questions finally be answered? Will we see those pesky Aliens? Will Scully become a believer? One thing is for sure, Fox will probably enjoy some great ratings come 24 January 2016, when The X-Files will return as a 6 episode miniseries.
