The last time Martin Scorsese, Terence Winter and HBO hooked up, we got the brilliant Emmy Award-winning Boardwalk Empire. Now they’re joining forces again for a new TV series, and this time they’re even throwing in some Mick Jagger. Those powerhouses of film, TV and music have now developed Vinyl, an exciting new drama set in the turbulent 1970’s music scene.
The new series is led by another familiar face in Bobby Cannavale, who goes from being the drugged up, unstable mobster Gyp Rosetti in Boardwalk Empire, to playing a… well, drugged up, unstable record label boss in this. The unholy trinity of Scorsese, Winter and Jagger have assembled a hell of a cast to accompany him in the form of Olivia Wilde, Juno Temple, Ray Romano, Paul Ben-Victor and more. And you can check all of them getting up to some sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll in this crackling first trailer.
Vinyl debuts on HBO in January 2016.
