Deathstroke returns to menace the Teen Titans in The Lazarus Contract

Lazarus-2

No family is perfect, but count yourself lucky that you don’t have comic book relatives sharing your bloodline. More drama than an entire year’s worth of The Bold and the Beautiful, comic book families never ever happy endings. Just look at one Slade Wilson, as that iconic mercenary has lost not one but several children to the Teen Titans over the years. But the loss that hurt the most? The death of his son Grant Wilson, the Ravager.

It’s a bit of a long tale, but the gist of it was that Ravager was hired by local eeeevil super-organisation The HIVE to assassinate the Teen Titans. He cocked up and died, with his father Deathstroke attempted to finish the job that he had started in the landmark Judas Contract storyline. A favourite amongst fans, the Judas Contract is a tale built on action, lies and betrayal. It’s also getting adapted somewhat loosely for the small screen as the next DC Comics animated film, which makes for perfect timing for a new series featuring Deathstroke taking on the Teen Titans once more. Convenient.

Called “The Lazarus Contract”, Deathstroke takes on the Titans once again in an effort to resurrect his long-lost son using a connection to Pre-New 52 Wally West who also happens to be back from the edge of oblivion. Here’s a quartet of synopsis (synopsi/synopseseseses dammit I don’t know) from Comics Alliance describing the four-part crossover series:

Something wrong gentlemen? You come here prepared to read the words of a madman, and instead found a lunatic obsessed with comics, Batman and Raul Julia's M Bison performance in the 1994 Street Fighter movie? Fine! Keep your bio! In fact, now might be a good time to pray to it!
