Here’s a Major Scarlett Johansson collectible from Ghost In The Shell

Ghost In The Shell (1)

Ghost in the Shell isn’t a perfect movie. What it is, however, is a stunningly-realised imperfect world perfectly imagined beyond the confines of animation and brought to life on the big screen with a bloated special effects budget that oozes charm. For all the claims of rampant white-washing present as well, you can’t deny that Scarlett Johansson put in one hell of a performance as the barely-human Major, a character more mechanical than Stephen Hawking.

Maybe I’m biased, but I liked Johansson as the Major. She nailed so many nuances of the idea of living in an artificial body, with mannerisms that echoed the emptiness that the character felt when compared to the world around her. Visually, Ghost In The Shell made Major look like she was ripped straight from the manga pages or stills from the landmark anime movie.

Whether it was an iconic silicone skin-suit or more urban clothing, Ghost In The Shell was stylish. Just like this one-sixth scale of a more combat-ready Major, from ThreeZero:

Sideshow and Threezero are proud to introduce the sixth scale Major collectible figure from Ghost in the Shell. Standing 10.5″ tall, this 1/6th scale figure features a realistic likeness to Scarlett Johannson, tailored clothing, a sub machine gun and more.

WHAT’S IN THE BOX?

The Major Sixth Scale Figure features:

  • Approximately 10.5” (~26.5cm) tall
  • Articulated figure with tailored costume
  • Tactical vest
  • Ballistics groin protection
  • Shin guards
  • Uniform
  • Pants
  • Shoes

Weapons & Accessories:

  • Tactical Pistol with holster
  • Stripper clip
  • Circular Plaza SMG
  • Sub Machine Gun
  • Interchangeable gloved hands including:
    – One (1) pair of fists
    – One (1) pair of relaxed
    – One (1) pair for gripping weapons
    – Two (2) left hands for holding Circular Plaza SMG & Sub Machine Gun

The price on this figure isn’t too bad either, for once. $168 gets you a mini-Scarlett for your shelf for around January – March of next year. Which originally sounded way better in my head.

Something wrong gentlemen? You come here prepared to read the words of a madman, and instead found a lunatic obsessed with comics, Batman and Raul Julia's M Bison performance in the 1994 Street Fighter movie? Fine! Keep your bio! In fact, now might be a good time to pray to it!

Damn, now this is one figurine that I might fork out for. I dig Scarlett as a sci-fi/fantasy actress, and this doesn’t only scream GitS.
