*yawn* Right, I’ve been up since before 4am to watch this year’s Academy Awards ceremony live, and I still missed the first half hour (Thanks DSTV for getting the time wrong in your guide).
Anyway, below are the full results from the ceremony, with winners marked in read. Don’t read any further if you have a resolve of steel and want to be completely surprised when you watch the delayed broadcast of the show on M-Net tonight, from 8:30pm.
Without further ado though, here is the full list of results, with winners marked in red:
Although Scorsese’s Hugo started strong with 5 wins, it turned out to be a case of tech award consolation as that silent movie about silent movies, The Artist, sweeped the biggie awards of the evening – Best Actor, Best Director and Best Film – while it picked up its 5 Oscars. Meanwhile, in the only 2 categories where it was nominated – Best Actress and Best Make-up – The Iron Lady was victorious.

Pretty much according to script then. No real surprises anywhere, and with the exception of The Descendants winning Adapted Screenplay over Hugo, I can’t really argue with any of the results.

Also, I’ve come to realize that Angelina Jolie is the most attractive coat rack I have ever seen.

What happened to the good ol days when you watched the Oscars and actually recognized most of the nominees?

There were a lot of first time nominees this year, which I think is actually a great thing. I can just imagine how the other actors and actresses respond each year, when they see the nominations list:
“Meryl Streep?! Again?!!”
