Fans of seeing retired secret agents kicking younger asses, rejoice! The Bruce Willis action flick, Red, was released last year, and proved to be a pretty decent film, as well as a financial success for its studio.

Which is why a sequel is an inevitable possibility. There hasn’t been too much info lately about said sequel, but now, some news has popped up that confirms that it’s still going ahead, and has added some new, sultry blood to its cast.

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Byun “G.I Joe Retaliation” Hung-Lee have been revealed as new additions to the cast, as they’ll be joining Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren and Mary Louise-Parker for the second outing.

Dean Parisot is handling directing duties, taking over from Robert Schwentke, while the original Red film writers, Jon and Erich Hoeber, have contributed a new script that will have the gang of lethal pensioners uniting to take on their enemies in Europe.

Filming starts later this year, for an August 2, 2013 release date.

If you’re keen to see more of Zeta-Jones in the interim, don’t forget, that she’ll be in Rock of Ages, due in June, as well as the films, Lay the Favourite, Playing the field and Broken City.

As for Lee, he’ll be attempting to get some measure of revenge against Snake Eyes, in the role of the Omo-white clad Ninja, Storm Shadow, in the G.I Joe sequel.
