Colin Farrell rides to the rescue of Arthur and Lancelot

Writer-Director David Dobkin is having a hard time getting his latest project off the ground, the buddy-knight film Arthur and Lancelot, which will follow the best of friends as they form a tight friendship over the years.

Until that whole Guinevere issue, but that happens way later. Warner Bros was keen on the film, until they saw what the budget for it would be, and decided to effectively put the brakes on the project, due to the fact that the leading actors don’t exactly have star-power to their names.

But Colin Farrell has a proven money-making presence, and he might just be on board for the film.

Farrell is currently in talks to star alongside Kit Harington and Joel Kinnaman, who will be playing Arthur and Lancelot respectively. It’s unclear yet which role he’ll assume on the film, but if the project is set during the earlier years of the Arthurian legend, he might just make a dapper Merlin, which would allow for Arthur and Lancelot to start shooting this year.

In the meantime, if you’re still anxious to see more of Farrell, he’ll be popping up on the big screen later this year in a Total Recall remake, as well as Martin McDonagh’s Seven Psychopaths.

  1. But Colin Farrell has a proven money-making presence” for what movies? He has a habit of staring in box office boms.

Dare Devil, Alexander, New world even In Bruges that had some positive buzz lost buckets of money.

Phone booth and SWAT made  money and Miami Vice just managed to get some profit, but more often that not his movies goes down in flames.
