Welcome to The Extras! A daily dose of all the smaller movie related news, clips and just plain cool stuff that you might have missed!

If I ever had a movie guilty pleasure, Mystery Men would be it. But now it just got a whole lot guiltier. For some completely inexplicable reason, the film actually features a cameo by none other than the Master of Bayhem, Michael Bay:

Auteur director Terence “I made a movie with Brad Pitt and dinosaurs” Malick’s latest is getting a new title as well as an MPAA rating. The Buried will now be known as To The Wonder and will be rated R for “some sexuality and nudity”. Judging by how many really attractive actresses are in this one, this is great news. (What? I’m just a man!)

Starring Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams, Olga Kurylenko, Javier Bardem, Rachel Weisz, Barry Pepper, Michael Sheen, Amanda Peet and Jessica Chastain, “To The Wonder” concerns a philanderer (Ben Affleck) who, feeling at loose ends, travels to Paris, where he enters a hot-and-heavy affair with a European woman (Olga Kurylenko). Said Lothario returns home to Oklahoma, where he marries the European woman (in part for visa reasons). When the relationship founders, he rekindles a romance with a hometown girl (Rachel McAdams) with whom he’s had a long history.”

Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity is being pushed back to 2013. I rage against the heavens in a 19 minute long single take shot.

Oh Damon Lindelof, you jokey jokester, you! The screenwriter recently revealed on Twitter that inspired by the tradition in all the Marvel movies, boardgame turned movie Battleship will now also be having an end-credits scene.

@DamonLindelof: If you stay through the credits of BATTLESHIP, Nick Fury shows up with Yahtzee.

The official soundtrack for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus has been made available on iTunes, but in preview form only. Which of course means that the full has now been uploaded onto Youtube. Because that’s just how the internet works, people. Just a slight warning though: Apparently some of the titles can be a bit spoilerish, which is why I am yet to listen pass this first track:

Robert Downey Jr is not only a really funny guy. He’s a really funny guy who knows how to structure a contract. Back in 2008, after the success of Iron Man, RDJ had his lawyers draw up a profit sharing deal with Marvel. And since The Avengers is currently earning ALL DA MONIEZ it’s set him up for a whopping $50 million paycheck.

So not only is he is as funny as Tony Stark, he now wants to be as wealthy as well?

The Guardian asks if it’s right of us to laugh at dictators like in Sacha Baron-Cohen’s latest film. Yes, I answer. Hell yes.

There’s a new poster out for The Amazing Spider-Man which shows that clearly Manhattan’s town planners are smoking the good stuff.

Keira Knightley will be taking the lead in Can A Song Save Your Life? after Scarlet Johannson has dropped out due to undisclosed personal reasons. Maybe she just needs some time off to count all her Avengers money.

GeekTyrant features a gallery of really charming new ads for for Disney’s annual Star Wars Weekends. Here’s my favourite of the lot:

Speaking Disney’s Star Wars Weekends, if you do manage to go to this year’s event, don’t forget to have yourself frozen in carbonite! Somebody, get me to America now!

What if Wes Anderson directed Battleship?

This Star Wars/West Side Story mashup t-shirt undoubtedly the coolest thing I’ve seen all week.

If you’ve never seen Casablanca and are also addicted to Facebook, then boy are you in luck. The social network will be streaming the movie for free tonight at 7pm PST/EST, which is about 3 am local time. And since you were probably going to be awake playing Farmville at that time anyway…

And we end on this animated short film from California School of Arts student Toniko Pantoja, that is simply the definition of charming.

“A girl is commissioned to paint over an old concrete illustration, in which to her surprise, sinks into.
She befriends a painted dragon who has a wing missing.”

And I’m officially done for the day! I don’t know if you recall but I mentioned on Monday that I would on the job for our sister site, Lazygamer.net. Well you can read just what I was up to OVER HERE.

Seriously, click the link. It took me a while to write that up, and it would really suck if nobody read it.
