Charles Dickens is one of the most well known authors of all time, with his literary works either having been read by generations of fans or adapted to screen and stage to much acclaim. But there are two things that many fans of Dickens’ stories had no idea about: 1) He had a haircut like one of the Three Stooges, and 2) he had a steamy affair with a mistress for 13 years.
But now Ralph Fiennes – who stars and directs – brings both to life in the new film The Invisible Woman, the first trailer for which is after the jump.
At the height of his career, Charles Dickens meets a younger woman who becomes his secret lover until his death.
The Invisible Woman will be bringing you a whole more adulterous Christmas carol when it’s released on December 25, 2013.
