Spider-Man! Spider-Man! Does whatever a spider can! And what he apparently does is drop teaser trailers for trailers, an exercise I usually despise the way Nick despises personal hygiene. But – and you just had to know there was a “but” because why else would this article exist? – this is our first official look at footage for the first Spider-Man standalone movie developed by Marvel Studios, so you bet your wall-crawling ass I’m sharing this!

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging superhero in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Cast: Tom Holland (In the Heart of the Sea), Michael Keaton (Batman, Birdman), Zendaya (K.C. Undercover), Donald Glover (The Martian, Community), Jacob Batalon (North Woods), Laura Harrier (One Life to Live), Tony Revolori (The Grand Budapest Hotel), Tyne Daly (Cagney and Lacey), Bokeem Woodbine (Fargo), with Marisa Tomei (My CousinVinny, The Wrestler), and Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man, The Avengers).

Damn straight, Tom Holland! That was indeed pretty damn cool! And check out the web-wings, just like we learned about the other day! How rad was that?! Also, yes, that was Iron Man director Jon Favreau, who also plays Tony Stark’s driver Happy Hogan and who will be showing up in Spider-Man: Homecoming alongside Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr. Expect to probably see more of their interactions with Spider-Man soon as Marvel has confirmed that the first full trailer will debut on the Jimmy Kimmel show tomorrow night. Well, tomorrow night US time, which more than likely means early hours of Friday morning. My body is ready!

Spider-Man: Homecoming was directed by Jon Watts (Cop Car) and also stars Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Tony Revolori, Bokeem Woodbine and Marisa Tomei. It is scheduled for release on July 7, 2017.

    Woo!
Suicide Squad may have left a bad taste in my mouth for this year, but I think Marvel is really stepping it up to make it all better again 😉
