Is true love too much to ask for in this trailer for ICE AGE: COLLISION COURSE?

Some movie franchises should stop while they’re ahead before the endless sequels start getting a little boring and sadly it looks like Ice Age has headed into that territory. I loved the first few Ice Age movies, they were fresh, had great chemistry with their lead characters and a witty sense of humour. The last two though have been starting to get thinner and thinner and have relied on weird things like Dinosaurs and renegade pirates to try and distract you from its otherwise weak plots. I still love that laughing gas scene from the 3rd film Dawn of the Dinosaurs though, it gets me every time.

And it seems the franchise is getting even crazier after the release of the new trailer for the next film in the franchise, Ice Age: Collision Course.

Bringing alien spaceships and asteroids into the mix is probably a sign that the end is nigh for this series, but I guess if they are going to bring about the end of the Ice Age, this is one way to do it. I will probably still go so see this movie, if not only to watch Scrat be desperately thwarted again and again from his beloved acorns. And hopefully we will finally see Sid find his true love or finally realise that, much like Nick and Trevor, he may be doomed to single-hood forever.

This will be the fifth film in the Blue Sky franchise and is scheduled to hit theaters on July 22 of this year. The regular cast, Ray Romano, Denis Leary, John Leguizamo, Queen Latifah, Seann William Scott, Josh Peck, Simon Pegg, Keke Palmer, Wanda Sykes and Jennifer Lopez, all return to voice their characters, though there is a host on new voice actors signed for the film as well Stephanie Beatriz, Adam DeVine, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Max Greenfield, Jessie J, Nick Offerman, Melissa Rauch, Michael Strahan and Neil deGrasse Tyson.

Why not watch the Ice Age movies in order (see here)
