In a little over a month we will see the charismatic, death defying, super spy James Bond return to big screens in the highly anticipated Spectre.
Being a huge fan of the franchise I was among those with reservations on the casting of Daniel Craig as 007. Craig however has since made me change my opinion, along with the hoards of skeptics that just didn’t think he could pull off the part of the worlds most beloved secret agent.
Kicking off with Casino Royale in 2006 and following up twice more with the not so well received Quantum of Solace and the very enjoyable Skyfall – we saw a new style of Bond being made – moving away from more over-the-top adventures and gadgets and turning out a much more gritty, believable take on the agent’s escapades.
Now I’m sure that most of you would by now have read about the tough job of finding a suitable candidate to replace Craig once he steps down as Bond. There have been many debates about Idris Elba, who seems to be a favorite among fans, and also Damien Lewis, more famous for his role in Homeland, having had his name thrown in the mix recently.
I can’t see Lewis as Bond but then again I have been proven wrong before. Daniel Craig however is still under contract to reprise the role one more time following Spectre, although the actor himself has been a little doubtful – stating the physical demands of the role would be the only reason to stop him from make a return.
What we know for sure is that James Bond is a box office giant and Spectre looks to be an exciting addition to the 23 iconic movies that precede it. Check out this final trailer below.
From what we have been shown so far (which thankfully isn’t much) Spectre certainly seems to be another smash hit, with Christoph Waltz sure to be fantastic as Bond villain Franz Oberhauser! As for the rest of the cast we have Ben Whishaw as Q, Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny as well as Léa Seydoux, Dave Bautista, Monica Bellucci, Ralph Fiennes, Andrew Scott, Rory Kinnear and Jesper Christensen.
The release date for Spectre set for November 6, 2015.

Now I was seriously looking forward to this but based on the two trailers, and lets be honest that is not much, I have the deep down dread that this is going to degenerate into a slideshow of action sequences that are bordering on the physical impossible, like a helicopter doing a barrel role. It seems that gadgety gadgets looks to be making a return. I am seriously worried that this is going to be an 80s action flick.

But helicopters can do barrel rolls. Stunt pilots do them all the time. And the James Bond franchise has a history of really amazing helicopter stunts.

Yes and no. for a helicopter to do a barrel roll AFAIK it needs to have seriously specialized reinforced rotors which are not on a anything other than a copter made for barrel rolling or doing loops. But I may just be talking out my arse.
