Jim Caviezel joins Arnie and Sly in The Tomb

He’s been everything from a count, to a WW2 soldier, to a space-cop, to a time traveller. Hell, even the son of God. And now, he may just be facing his most daunting task yet as he faces off against true heavyweights of the action genre.

Can Jim Caviezel out-testosterone both Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenneger?

If you were disappointed by Arnold’s tease of a presence in Expendables then you’re probably overjoyed at his expanded role in that that film’s upcoming sequel. However, I still get the feeling that it’s going to be more of a supporting role.

No, to see Arnie and Sly really action it up together (no homo) you’re going to want to check out The Tomb.

As we previously reported, Sly plays Ray Breslin, a guy who gets thrown into the same inescapable jail that he designed, and then needs to escape. Arnie will be Church, a long-time prisoner who helps Breslin to get out.

Now all of that sounds like the makings of a great 80’s styled action film, except we were missining that smarmybastard of a prison warden that will make these guys’ lives hell.

And now, according to producer Mark canton, we have that bastard:

[Jim] Caviezel will be playing the role of the Warden of the prison in which Schwarzenegger & Stallone attempt to escape from.”

Caviezel is currently doing his best Jack Bauer impersonation (complete with whisper shout and bullets to the knees) over on Jonathan Nolan’s TV show, Persons of Interests, where he has certainly placed a giant tick mark in both the “smarmy” and “bastard” columns.
