SUPERBOWL!!! To most of America, that meant watching a two groups of heavily padded roid-bruisers violently slamming into each over a little bit of pigskin yesterday. But for us film geeks though, its basically Movie Trailer Christmas as studios try to cash in on the fact that a large portion of the population is already glued to their screens. And boy, did we get some great gifts this year!

In a total surprise move, the first trailer for the next Bourne movie dropped as well the film’s official title being revealed: Jason Bourne (you know, just so that they can be clear that this has nothing to do with Jeremy Renner’s Aaron Cross from The Bourne Legacy.

The trailer is pretty short (the movie is still in production, hence the surprise at this trailer’s appearance) but it gives us a great indication that while it may be nearly a decade and a half since titular star Matt Damon and returning franchise helmer Paul Greengrass kicked off this gritty spy action quest, but they most definitely still got it.

Damon had previously revealed that this movie will be taking place 12 years after the events of 2007’s The Bourne Ultimatum, wherein Bourne finally got his memories back, but now finds himself in a “dark and tortured place”.

“Without giving too much of it away, it’s Bourne through an austerity-riddled Europe and in a post-Snowden world. It seems like enough has changed, you know? There are all these kinds of arguments about spying and civil liberties and the nature of democracy.”
