All good things come to an end continue for another season. At least that’s what you hope for in TV land and appears that is true of Luke Cage. Though it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone as the hit Marvel show proved popular with fans and critics alike and it only makes sense that Netflix would want more of it.

Netflix announced the news on the show’s Twitter and Facebook feeds with the following short video about our hulky superhero:

It seems Marvel’s shows are quite a hit for the network as Daredevil and Jessica Jones have also been renewed for additional seasons and puts everything well on course for their The Defenders crossover, following the Iron Fist TV series that is also in the works. It’s a good time to be a comic book fan, as The CW has recently put together their 4 episode crossover epic between Supergirl, Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow and Netflix wants to do it for these Marvel characters as well.

Though you could argue that so far Netflix’s offering’s have certainly had the better content with tighter and more gritty storytelling and action (almost the opposite of their cinema counterparts) and so seeing all The Defenders together in a TV series is a really exciting prospect. Getting more of Luke Cage however in the interim is certainly not a bad idea and should tide us over until the epic heroes all come together

Mike Colter will obviously return as Luke Cage and will probably also be joined by his co-stars Rosario Dawson and Simone Missick. It’s uncertain who else from the season 1 cast will be returning.

Are you excited for a new season of Luke Cage or do you just want to see the Defenders get on with it already?

A man of many talents, but no sense how to use them. I could be discovering the cure for aids or finding ways to achieve world peace, but I’d rather be watching movies and writing here instead.
