This new red-band trailer for Gold really doesn’t feel like talking

With an Oscar, a Golden Globe and bunch of other awards already adorning his mantlepiece, Matthew McConaughey technically doesn’t need more gold. But he may just get some from a movie about… Matthew McConaughey getting some gold? Wait, what?!

Gold is the epic tale of one man’s pursuit of the American dream, to discover gold. Starring Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey as Kenny Wells, a prospector desperate for a lucky break, he teams up with a similarly eager geologist and sets off on an amazing journey to find gold in the uncharted jungle of Indonesia. Getting the gold was hard, but keeping it would be even harder, sparking an adventure through the most powerful boardrooms of Wall Street.

Since the start of the “McConnaissance” a few years back, McConaughey has just been firing on all cylinders. He’s been so electric on screen that not even the turgid misstep that was The Free State of Jones is enough to not have me get excited for his next offering. And Gold appears to be another powerhouse showcase for the actor. Add to that this is actually being directed by Traffic and Syriana’s Stephen Gaghan and there’s only one thing left to say: Alright alright alright!

Gold also stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Edgar Ramirez, Bruce Greenwood, Toby Kebbell and Corey Stoll. It is scheduled for release in the US in just two weeks, however we’re going to have to wait until April 7, 2017 to watch it locally.
