Cronut

Today, The Division is out – making New York Home to an engineered plague that’s very nearly wiped out one of the world’s most vibrant cities. Outside of this digital reality, New York is a melting pot of cultures, making one of the best “food cities” in the world. There are a number of quintessential New York foods, which we’ve featured here before; things like Hot Dogs, Pizza, Blintzes and Pierogi, as well as ones we haven’t; Bagel and Lox, Bialy, Pastrami on rye and New York Cheesecake.

They’ve all got a long, rich history in New York – which was home to many of the US’s immigrants. Instead of something old, today we’ll feature something a little newer. It’s an abomination known as the Cronut. Created by Chef Dominique Ansel (and trademarked by his New York Bakery), The Cronut is the unholy union of a croissant and a Donut. It’s a portmanteau and an abomination, and very possible the reason The Division’s New York is in the state it’s in.

March 2016 brings us two high court cases for the criminalization and legalization of cannabis for medical and recreational use. If you look at how good cannabis is for medical reasons, from cancer to seizures to alzheimers, there is a real need for cannabis to be legal for medical use. There is also no harmful effects.

cannabis and cannabis hemp can create jobs from farming to textile to building materialises. Think of how people want to live green on the environment, you go green with cannabis. Like instead of chopping down our forests, paper can be replaced with cannabis paper. Just one example.

we need to stop the war on drugs and South Africa can do that but instead we aligned ourselves with powerhouses like Russia and China for nuclear power. Now we at the bitches of these powerhouses. Think internet censorship and now a new war of drugs.

We use cloth nappies and the hemp inserts are very, very good. also bamboo.

Those hemp inserts are legal to buy (as far as I know), but I do not think the raw materials are grown here, I think it is import only.

cannabis slows down and in some cases stops cancer growth. cannabis kind of like tells the cancer cells to die.
cancer is a major concern world round. And cannabis really helps with reducing growth, stopping growth and killing cancer cells.

From the research i’ve read, it is fucking important for cannabis to be legalized because of medical uses.

            March 8, 2016 at 19:46

From what I’ve researched Cannabis does NOTHING to stop cancer.. it just helps with the pain.

            March 8, 2016 at 21:19

Oh hell no. You not going to spread disinformation.

I’m sorry to say but your comment, in 2016, is just so old. Like 1950’s old.

            Research facts:
Cannabis slows down the growth rate of cancer cells.
Cannabis stops cancer growth in some cancers.
Cannabis reduces the size of the cancer.
Cannabis kills cancer cells while leaving healthy cells alone.

Human beings has a long history of cannabis use. There are reasons why hundreds of years ago people were using cannabis. It’s only the last 100 years South Africa got cannabis banned because of racist reasons. And look the world went to shit.

One of the interesting things i read about cannabis is how cannabis was used to cleaned up radioactive ground.

Cannabis is really a can do it all type of plant. And no it’s not just for pain. Pain and nausea were used to break the stigma of cannabis from society, so that cancer patiences can smoke their cannabis and get the fuck better.

It is 2016. We know everything about cannabis. even a 20 year long study.
It’s time we legalize cannabis in South Africa. Our economy needs it.

First off to long to fucking read.

I have following cannabis + cancer for a long time now. I have looked at all the sides, all the points of view, the internet will have every point of view out there.
Linking to an opinionated piece where the person links to certain view points found on the internet.

As you can see I never mentioned cure anywhere. I am not on the cure bandwagon. and up until they found out cannabis kills cancer cells and yes it was in a way that cancer patiences won’t be doing but it shouldn’t take away from how cannabis does effect cancer.

Your Link. high amounts of cannabis directly onto the cancer cells vs smoking cannabis.
Now when it comes to treating cancer with cannabis, I would say about 30 plants are needed and then boiled in alcohol to wash the thc and cbd off the plant and then the alcohol is burned away and you left with a highly concentrated form of cannabis. It’s like this black paste, cannabis oil it’s called. Not to be mistaken by hemp oil.

I always say cannabis is like a body regulator. There’s something wrong within the body, regulators.
We can’t say cannabis cures cancer because what’s causing cancer is what we eating and drinking and our environment, so cannabis can slow down cancer growth, cannabis can stop cancer growth, cannabis can reduce cancer growth but if you don’t change what caused the cancer in the first place, cannabis is not going to be a cure and prevention. But it helps to treat cancer effectively.

So don’t let a link like that fuck with the word “cure” because that’s all it’s doing.

          • Mark Treloar

            March 9, 2016 at 09:17

I don’t deny that it would be beneficial, I just get irritated with the fact that you cant tell the stoners from those who are truly altruistic since both use the same argument to try get what they want.

          • Ryanza

            March 9, 2016 at 09:25

It also comes down to the fact that cannabis is no harmful. Alcohol is much worse. You can’t get physically addicted to cannabis.

As an adult, one should have the right to choose what one inhales or ingests into one’s own body.

So the argument comes down to cannabis is 100% safe and adults should get the choice to decide what they want to do when it concerns adult use.

The medical side to cannabis is so fucking important that cannabis has to become legalized and no1 should care that adults choose to use cannabis recreationally because it’s 100% to use recreationally and medically.

You need to get over the mind set that it’s bad for adults to smoke cannabis and who are you to say what other adults can and can not do with their own body concerning a plant that is 100% safe.

          • Mark Treloar

            March 9, 2016 at 09:51

I’m not discriminating against anyone’s right to choose. My argument is with people being honest about their motivation. If you have actually sat at someones bedside who is dying from cancer you will understand, why someone using this argument just to get legally high is irksome.

social issues – there is a war on drugs and people are going to jail and labelled criminal because of cannabis.
Rastafarians are being beaten and harassed by the cops because of this stigma of cannabis and the war of drugs, which needs to stop.
There is a lot i can list under social issues.

Medical side of cannabis – all cancer patiences needs to be using cannabis as a treatment.

To the person who just wants to smoke cannabis to get high. You should be getting your cannabis at Pick N Pay and not on some street corner where your life could be at risk from the real criminal element.

with cannabis there is a place for everyone. don’t be mad at any one side.

Smoking cannabis will never lead to lung cancer!!!
Smoking cannabis, to a small degree, cleans and slightly heals lung tissue. I’m using slightly and small degree because it’s not like a major clean and healing but the little bit that cannabis helps helps the lungs just shows us the direction of cannabis and lung tissue being a positive effect.

cannabis actually helps break down all the bad tar from smoking cigs (cancer sticks).

This being the internet where all points of view can be accessed, you wanting to believe cannabis smoke is bad for the lungs, which it’s not, you will find lots of studies on the internet to sort your believe or any one’s belief. I have looked at it all, so i don’t need it.

What I do not like is the naked (yes, yes) attempts at using sex to sell products that are not directly related to sex. i.e I would have no problem using the concept of sex to sell, for example, some sort of sex toy.

Jesus caused millions to die.. not sure that’s a fair comparison.

Also in my real life experience a lot of heavy marijuana users appear to lost the ability to focus on long term tasks. Whether this has any scientific backing I have no idea, but it should be investigated.

The number of weed heads with no real care of long term issues worries me

A – Are you sure your cannabis friends are not just getting old.

and B – cannabis strengthens the neural network in the brain and throughout the body. For that to happen your mind is going to wonder, i’ve heard. Continues thoughts, like a neural network being strengthen and tested.

Memory is not stored like data on a hdd. Memory is like a vibe. You like experience the memory the same way you experienced whatever you trying to remember.

focusing on long term tasks. There are two types of strains for cannabis. They call it the head high and the body high.
body high – you relaxed and the cares of the world drifts away.
head high – for the thinking business man.

now because cannabis is illegal and the indica strain of cannabis grows much faster than the sativa, and you get much more cannabis from the indica plant than the sativa plant, which means most cannabis users are getting the relaxed and sleepy body high strain.
Which is bad for people who want to smoke during the day. and goes to your long term tasks issue. Switch to a sativa head high strain and you will see the difference.

Durban Poison 100% sativa strain – the thinking man’s plant.

I’ve read a few studies where they say the long term effects cause slower memory and brain development.

Studies suggest that teens and young adults, their brains are still developing and cannabis may, not will, have an effect on the developing brain.

I think it’s just about keeping the kids from smoking cannabis. How bad can it be when this: http://sfevergreen.com/prenatal-marijuana-use-may-enhance-childs-visual-abilities/

Now when it comes to stopping kids from doing drugs, all you got to do is legalize the drug. It’s almost as if the drugs become uncool when it becomes legal.

Holland has seen a drop in teen cannabis smokers and now in USA where it’s legal, has also seen a drop in teen cannabis use.

Memory i covered already. In other words, if you trying to remember something of a time while you were high, then get high again, you will remember faster.

I’m all for it. I’m just saying, you’d have to be a bit slow to think that inhaling smoke (ie, limiting oxygen intake) is healthy.

everything is not bad for us 100% of the time. I don’t know what else to tell you. They looked into it. They did tests. and found out that cannabis + lungs = no cancer risk at all, and the cannabis tar has a slight, tiny bit of positive effect on lung tissue.

So out of all the bad shit we inhale on a daily bases, cannabis smoke is the safest.

There are so many studies out there that disprove one another, it’s impossible to know for sure in the end.
It may be bad, it may not be. I’m not against it, but I sure as shit won’t be going apeshit about it either.
But as you say, many things are bad for you. So choose your own poison, I suppose. 🙂

That’s one of the issues with the internet. All sides, all points of views are covered. It’s upon us to sort through the mess.

I’ve been following cannabis + cancer for along time now. It’s amazing to me how a common weed plant can help treat cancer. so i’ve been through it all, good studies, bad studies, paid for studies to promote a certain view point.

The cannabis + lung studies as an example, to promote negativity, they will say there is more tar from smoking cannabis than tar from smoking cigs therefore cannabis smoke is bad for lungs. But they don’t go into how the tar from cannabis is different to the tar from cigs and how the cannabis tar has this slight cleaning effect in the lungs.

I’ve read through a lot. I know when it’s bullshit when shit is left out to promote a certain view point.
There are studies that follow the effects of cannabis from the mouth to the throat, lungs, blood, brain, to the cancer.
There are studies that covers every step along the way of cannabis in the human system.
the bullshit studies tend to leave out a step or two if not all.
