When there’s something strange, in your Hollywood office, who ya gonna call? If there’s something weird in your reboot, who ya gonna call? Paul Feig! And I am most certainly afraid of this film.
It’s been rumoured, denied, complied and straight up lied about, but it looks like Paul “Bridesmaids” Feig will indeed be strapping a proton pack on and wrangling some ghosts, as the director himself confirmed that he would be working on the Ghostbusters reboot yesterday:
It’s official. I’m making a new Ghostbusters & writing it with @katiedippold & yes, it will star hilarious women. That’s who I’m gonna call.

I’ve still got massive mixed feelings for this reboot. On the one hand, Paul Feig is a pretty decent director. On the other hand, it’s a reboot that isn’t necessary. On another hand, more Ghostbusters. On yet another hand, the entire premise sounds like a gimmick and I’ll be far too sad if Melissa McCarthy gets a role in the film. Also, I apparently have four hands it seems.
Reinforcing those McCarthy fears of mine, is the fact that Katie “The Heat” Dippold is also writing the movie. Which also means that all the work done before this announcement , is being scrapped in favour of a brand new script. The only plus side however, is that the reboot doesn’t have a strict time-frame attached to it, so it may be several years before Feig even begins calling the shots from behind the camera.
