Exodus (1)

After a few decades of limited offerings, Hollywood has once again jumped full-on into the biblical epic business. Noah opened the flood gates – pun intended – and now veteran director Ridley Scott is looking to lead the next wave – pun still intended – with Exodus: Gods and Kings.

Scott has produced some true cinematic marvels in his time, but has been slightly off his game in his last few efforts, most notably the lackluster Robin Hood and the lacks-logic Prometheus. But with a cracker of a cast led by Christian Bale as the hero that the Jews in Gotham deserved but not the one they needed right now Moses and Noel Edgerton as the Pharoah Ramses, and boasting some ridiculously impressive visuals put to jaw-dropping use in the horrific plagues to strike Egypt, Exodus: Gods and Kings is shaping up to be a massive return for Scott to his winning ways. Just check out this epic new trailer for the film to see what I’m talking about.

From acclaimed director Ridley Scott (“Gladiator,” “Prometheus”) comes the epic adventure “Exodus: Gods and Kings,” the story of one man’s daring courage to take on the might of an empire. sing state of the art visual effects and 3D immersion, Scott brings new life to the story of the defiant leader Moses (Christian Bale) as he rises up against the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses (Joel Edgerton), setting 600,000 slaves on a monumental journey of escape from Egypt and its terrifying cycle of deadly plagues.

Exodus: Gods and Kings also stars Aaron Paul, John Turturro, Sigourney Weaver and Ben Kingsley. It is scheduled for release on December 12, 2014.
