SAW 2

Even though the franchise is now flimsier than a TB Joshua church, I still have a soft spot for the first SAW movie. Here was a film that was groundbreaking, edgey and scary. This was the future of horror movies! And the real terror lied in the fact that this franchise would be run into the ground with tepid sequels and numerous copycat movies. Still, the first time was the charm, and SAW is due for a comeback.

SAW is getting a one week run in the states, although there’s no word yet on if the film is going to re-release in other territories. My money is on “nah, it ain’t”. Still, here’s a re-release trailer to get you in the mood, as well asa  terrific new poster!

With a dead body lying between them, two men wake up in the secure lair of a serial killer who’s been nicknamed “Jigsaw”. The men must follow various rules and objectives if they wish to survive and win the deadly game set for them.

SAW

Alternatively, you can always just rent the film and have a fright night of your own. Heyo! As I said before, SAW has remained a fond film in my collection. And a handy guide for buying the right kind of hardware. It’s been a massive success for director James Wan, who has gone on to direct films such as Insidious, The Conjuring and The Fast And The Furious 7. Which is another franchise that will never ever stay down it seems.

Something wrong gentlemen? You come here prepared to read the words of a madman, and instead found a lunatic obsessed with comics, Batman and Raul Julia’s M Bison performance in the 1994 Street Fighter movie? Fine! Keep your bio! In fact, now might be a good time to pray to it!
