Just yesterday we showed you the poster to Steve Carrel and Keira Knightly’s oddball “end of the world”, romantic drama. Well now just a single day later, and the trailer has been released.
And to be quite frank, I can’t remember when last the apocalyptic end of mankind looked this charming.
Against all odds, that actually looks like it could be a charming and fun film. The unique concept should hopefully help elevate the story above usual rom-com trappings, while Keira Knightley appears to be far less annoying in here than anything else she’s been in in recent memory. Maybe it’s the new hair.
I would like to comment on how Steve Carell is starting to get typecast in this type of role, but the thing is that he is actually really good at it. He is becoming the King of Dramedy, it would seem.

That looks absolutely fucking brilliant. Granted, I can already spot the ending from a mile off, but I’m really tired of End of The World movies that are about the heroes who save the world and there’s lots of explosions, shouting and running.
This looks like something of how the Everyday Joe would deal with the Apocalypse and it seems miles fresher than a blockbuster approach
