escape plan (1)

Sylvester Stallone isn’t exactly new to the whole prison movie gig. Films like Escape to Victory and Lock Up had him stuck inside a jail, while he partnered up with Snake Plissken for Tango and Cash and educated people all over the world to what FUBAR really means.

But in what will most likely be his final prison break, Stallone will be attempting to escape a prison that is more secure than the vault that houses the KFC recipe. And he won’t be alone either, as Arnold Schwarzenegger will be joining that bid for freedom as well

One of the world’s foremost authorities on structural security agrees to take on one last job: breaking out of an ultra-secret, high-tech facility called “The Tomb.” Deceived and wrongly imprisoned, Ray Breslin (Sylvester Stallone) must recruit fellow inmate Emil Rottmayer (Arnold Schwarzenegger) to help devise a daring, nearly impossible plan to escape from the most protected and fortified prison ever built.

First of all, if you’ve got more than one brain cell and can put two and two together, then beware: Escape Plan may have just spilled all the beans in that trailer. Acts one through three have been shown off in two and half minutes, but otherwise, it’s a slick-looking film. Arnie looks like he’s having a blast with the role, while seeing the two action stars being forced to rely on their brains for once is kind of refreshing.

Escape Plan also stars Jim Caviezel, Curtis “Fiddy Sent” Jackson, Vinnie Jones, Vincent D’Onofrio and Amy Ryan, and is directed by Mikael Håfström. It’ll be breaking out of the joint in October.
