So yesterday we brought you some new set pics for director Alan Taylor’s (Game of ThronesThor: The Dark World. The pics revealed a far more rustic and Viking look than the shiny plastic techno-gods we saw in the first film, and also gave us a good glimpse of Jaime Alexander in full battle regalia as Lady Sif, putting godly boot to asses as she led the Asgardians in some battle.

Well, now we’ve got a description for exactly what we’re seeing as well as what appears to be the worst reenactment of Lord of the Dance by an Asgardian prince ever.

Apparently a letter sent by the production company to residents surrounding the Bourne Wood set in England, revealed a bit more about what was going on:

“The sequence involves a battle between two kingdoms, ending in our comic book hero arriving to save the day. The sequence will involve a substantial amount of Stunts and controlled special effects all within the hours 0700 – 1900hrs.”

Well, yesterday’s pics certainly showed us the battle between two kingdoms as we saw the new creature threat in the form of the “Marauders” – I’ll be hazarding a guess that these will be one of the Nine Realms’ armies that newly announced black hat Malekith the Accursed (Chris Ecclestone) will be inciting against Asgard – and now we get to the hero saving the day part.

These new totally internet meme-worthy pics (courtesy of JustJared) show Chris Hemsworth, dressed in full godly attire with Mjolnir in hand, doing an Asgardian tap dance on the spine of some poor hapless Marauder. Damn, Thor don’t play.
