Take a first look at CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS 2

Here’s one animated film that I’m looking forward to in 2013: Cloudy with a chance of meatballs 2. And this isn’t because I have a massive Anna Farris crush that transcends time, space and restraining orders. The original cast is coming back, this time to take a look at the aftermath of what inventor Flint Lockwood’s food creator has done.

Namely, an island of mutated food creatures. Sounds far-fetched? Wel Doc Livingstone and David Attenborough fans, here’s a first look at the exotic wildlife that is roaming the island over…there!Picking up where the sequel happy ended from, Cloudy 2 finds Flint finally being recognized for his genius, as he gets a chance to rub shoulders with the greatest inventor alive, Chester V who is voiced by Will Forte. Throw in some mutant foods on the attack, a Kristen Schaal voiced orangutan with plans and the fate of the world resting in Flint’s hands, and that completes the sequel.

Plus the obligatory be true to yourself schtick when Flint has to decide what is more important in life yadda yadda yadda. Yeah, I’m making that last bit up, but I feel like making an easy R10 if I can find someone stupid enough to take that bet.

Coming Soon has the first image from the film below, as well as close-ups of the Bananostrich, Cantalope, Cucumbirds, Flamangos, Fruit Cockatiel, Hippotatomus, Sasquash, Watermelophant, Wild Scallions, Wildebeets, Barry and Tomato.

Cloudy 2 is out in September, and stars the voices of Bill Hader, Anna Faris, James Caan, Andy Samberg, Neil Patrick Harris, Benjamin Bratt, Terry Crews, Will Forte and Kristen Schaal. And it’s probably banned in Ethiopia as well.
