Neill Blomkamp’s first two films have been a mix of action and drama. District 9 was an alien apartheid analogy, while Elysium was an kinetic film wherein the moral of the story was that rich people are real jerkasses. His next film though? That’s Chappie, a robot gangster comedy. And that mix of genres alone has me sold. Here’s a sneak peek at what the titular Chappie actually looks like.
While Chappie doesn’t have a panel at the San Diego Comic Con, it does have a presence at that event. Collider snapped some pics of the poster for the film, which stars Hugh Jackman, Sigourney Weaver, Sharlto Copley and Die Antwoord.
Scheduled for release March 6 next year, Chappie is the tale of a boy who is kidnapped and later adopted by a loving family who discover that he is a gifted child. The only problem however, is that he happens to be a robot. And some dangerous folks want him back.

Chappie looks like a robot prawn from District 9.
