Teaser trailer for new Ringu, Sadako 3D

It would seem that Internet killed the TV star. But unfortunately the TV star then came back from the dead with bad makeup and hair in serious need of a good shampooing. Oh and the ability to kill you just by video-bombing some Youtube clips. (Serious hax!)

Yep, the popular Ringu Japanese horror franchise – of which The Ring is the US remake – is getting a 3rd installment. And this time Sadako’s scary face is all up in your interwebs.

Akane is a high school teacher who hears a rumor from her students that there is actual footage on the Internet of someone’s suicide. The footage is said to drive anyone who sees it to also commit suicide. Akane does not believe the rumor at first, but when one of her female students dies after viewing the footage, she and her boyfriend Takanori are fatefully drawn into the horror that has been created by the man who appears in the suicide footage, Kashiwada. Kashiwada’s intention is to create chaos in the world by bringing back Sadako and the power of her curse. Now Akane has to fight against Sadako and Kashiwada to save the lives of herself and Takanori

I have to admit, I’ve never seen the original Japanese films, despite everybody saying that they are superior to their English language counterparts, but there’s a good reason for that. You see, The Ring holds a special place in my heart. It’s probably the only film that has ever made adult me literally jump in my seat. And by jump, I don’t mean a small squirm. I’m talking “13 year old girl at a Justin Bieber concert” level of jumping and screaming here.

So no, I have no desire to relive that experience, thank you very much. Especially due to the fact that if there’s one thing that all my years on the internet have taught me, it’s that there’s no other nation on the face of the planet more screwed up than the Japs. They are the genesis pit of all the world’s crazy.

And there is no chance in hell that I’m going to expose myself to that crazy in 3D.

At least they’re staying true to the age old horror movie law that the protagonists should be dumber than fence posts.

Seriously, if I hear that there’s a video out there that drives you to suicide, guess what, I’m not watching it. If it’s not true, awesome. If it is true, you only have one chance to test the theory.

    So fuck it
