It’s been a while since we first showed you some images from the upcoming classic English literature slash (pun intended) zombie slaying mash-up. As we said then it’s “based on the 2009 Seth Grahame-Smith parody novel of the same name which combines the renowned Jane Austen novel with modern zombie fiction leading to a rather unique take on the original” – and, judging by the trailer, does it ever.

The rather brief official plot synopsis is as follows:

Jane Austen’s classic tale of the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in 19th century England is faced with a new challenge — an army of undead zombies.

That looks like Nick completely bonkers! It may not succeed in polite society, but it certainly does in mine (side note: I’m not sure if I just insulted myself or not). That trailer hit all the right beats and makes the movie look thoroughly entertaining. I’m guessing it’s no accident that the music in the latter half of the trailer evokes memories of Pulp Fiction as director Burr Steers had a role in that movie. All-in-all it looks to be dripping in style and gore; and more importantly – fun. What do you think?

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, written and directed by Burr Steers, stars Lily James, Bella Heathcote, Sam Riley, Jack Huston, Douglas Booth, Lena Headey, Matt Smith and Charles Dance. It’s due for release on 6 February 2016.
