After being thoroughly underwhelmed by the previous two entries in the rather silly Divergent franchise, my excitement level for series finale Allegiant can be measured somewhere between a root canal and a plate full of steamed broccoli.

That being said, after watching this first full trailer for The Divergent Series: Allegiant, I’m maybe/kind of /sort of/ a little intrigued again. Maybe this is due to the completionist in me just wanting to see how the narrative ties up everything now that Shailene Woodley’s heroine Tris know the “truth” about her messed-up Factioned world, or maybe it’s the fact that this looks like a completely different movie!

I mean, sure the general players are still the same, and the franchise is still nothing more than a hodge podge of ideas stolen from other superior works of fiction (there’s even a hint of The Truman Show thrown in this time around), but at least now you’ve got some shiny high-tech sci-fi vehicles to distract you, those utterly ridiculous Factions – which was about as implausible a dystopian future society as I have ever seen or read – are nowhere to be found, and Jeff Daniels is even taking over for Kate Winslet in the default corporate looking villain role.

It’s like a new coat of paint on the same rickety old house, but hell it may just fool me long enough to get in the door. Check it all out below!

After the earth-shattering revelations of “Insurgent,” Tris must escape with Four and go beyond the wall enclosing Chicago. For the first time ever, they will leave the only city and family they have ever known in order to find a peaceful solution for their embroiled city. Once outside, old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless with the revelation of shocking new truths. Tris and Four must quickly decide who they can trust as a ruthless battle ignites beyond the walls of Chicago which threatens all of humanity. In order to survive, Tris will be forced to make impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice and love.

The Divergent Series: Allegiant was directed also stars Theo James, Octavia Spencer, Naomi Watts, Jeff Daniels, Ray Stevenson, Zoe Kravitz, Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Maggie Q, Mekhi Phifer, and Daniel Dae Kim. Insurgent director Robert Schwentke returns to helm the movie, which is scheduled for release on March 18, 2016.
