Being the longtime comic book geek that I am, I was always kind of excited for Jessica Jone, Marvel and Netflix’s followup to the incredible Daredevil. For those of you who were not as hipster as I was and still needed a bit of convincing, I’m sure the grim and dark first trailer did exactly that. Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg had promised that the show would get really moody and twisted and that’s exactly what we saw in that first preview.

But while drama is great, fans of the comic book heroine know that Ms Jones has quite a bit of attitude to her, and that’s exactly what this fantastic new trailer shows off so well. We get to see Jessica (Krysten Ritter) snark it up with future beau – and also fellow superhero – Luke Cage (Mike Colter), as well as kicking the snot out of a select few scumbag, and there’s also a whole lot of David Tennant’s sadistic mind-controlling villain Killgrave. And all of it accompanied by one of my favourite music tracks of the year in The Prodigy’s “The Day Is My Enemy”. In other words: This is a great freaking trailer!

After a tragic ending to her short-lived Super Hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases in New York City.

Jessica Jones also stars Rachael Taylor, Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Erin Moriarty, and Wil Traval. It will premiere the entirety of its 13 one-hour episode first season on Netflix on November 20.
