I wrote about Regression quite a while ago and was keen to see it. It not only has Emma Watson, who I think is very talented, but an actor who recently climbed into my really good books with his performance in Predestination, of course that being Ethan Hawke.

The movie, directed by Alejandro Amenabar of Others fame, has taken it’s sweet time coming out and I doubt it has anything to do with post editing. No, I think if you drop  a movie with good actors (it also stars David Thewlis from Harry Potter) and you keep it very quiet, then you probably have a reason. I mean it was supposed to be out last summer! Still, it looks like it could be a decent watch, the tone is intriguing, as is the soundtrack (of the trailer at least).

However, I can pretty much guarantee I already know the premise and the end which says much… Have a watch and see what you think:

Minnesota, 1990. Detective Bruce Kenner (Ethan Hawke) investigates the case of young Angela (Emma Watson), who accuses her father, John Gray (David Dencik), of an unspeakable crime. When John unexpectedly and without recollection admits guilt, renowned psychologist Dr. Raines (David Thewlis) is brought in to help him relive his memories and what they discover unmasks a horrifying nationwide mystery.

Yeah, doesn’t look like it’ll pick up any Oscars, mind you it’s white enough, boom! Too soon?

Regression will hit a few cinemas 5 February.
