She may have started out as Mrs James Cameron, but it didn’t take long for Katheryn Bigelow to carve out her own little movie directing empire. An empire where bank robbing surfers get caught because of their butt tan lines, and Ralph Fiennes has Reality TV Netflix installed in his head.

And while Point Break and Strange Days have both become a bit of cult classics, and Bigelow kept busy with regular projects, it wasn’t until 2010’s The Hurt Locker, when she became a household name by becoming the first woman in history to win an Oscar for best director. And now she’s returning to the battlefield for her next film, but with something a lot more realistic.

The search for the head of the Al Quaeda terrorist group, Osama Bin Laden, was one of the most exhaustive manhunts ever staged, and supposed overarching motivations forgotten, was an incredible military feat. Oh and also very top secret. Little did we know that the key to the Pentagon was actually shaped like a little golden statue of a bald dude holding a sword, and thanks to that unprecedented accessed to classified info, Bigelow – sporting a stellar ensemble cast – is now bringing the story of everybody involved in capturing America’s most wanted man to the screen. And here is the first teaser trailer to her efforts:

Along with the trailer, Entertainment Weekly has also scored these 5 new images for the film, which shows a bit more of Joel Edgerton, Frank Grillo, Mark Strong and Kyle Chandler.

Synopsis:

“Zero Dark Thirty” focuses on the black ops mission to capture or kill Osama bin Laden, which culminated in his death during a high-stakes raid on his compound in Pakistan.
