This past Tuesday  marked 20 years since the untimely death of rap legend Tupac Shakur. Where does the time go? Well in honour of this milestone Morgan Creek has released a second trailer for the upcoming biopic of the star, titled All Eyez On Me. When the first trailer dropped, the main thing that stood out for me was just how the film’s star Demetrius Shipp, Jr. actually looks like the legendary rapper. Indeed the resemblance is almost frightening.

And this second trailer has only done more to make me convinced that Tupac could still be alive and is simply a vampire that hasn’t aged. After all, it’s more believable right?

This trailer  shows us a lot more of what we can expect from the movie and it is certainly looking good. Portraying quite powerfully the motivation that drove the star not just to succeed, but to live the gangster life that he did. The trailer might also reveal a cameo or two…

The film, surprisingly, doesn’t have an official release date, yet after two trailers its certainly looking pretty much done already. So, not sure if they are just holding out for the right distributor or perhaps it’s a sign the film is actually very terrible. Hopefully the former.

Alongside Shakur himself Shipp, Jr, the film also stars Danai Gurira, Kat Graham (as Jada Pinkett), Dominic L. Santana, Jamal Woolard as the equally legendary Biggie Smalls, Annie Ilonzeh, Lauren Cohan, and Grace Gibson as Faith Evans and Harold House Moore as none other than Dr Dre. And while a lot of famous people are portrayed in this film, none of them come across as powerfully as the film’s star.

All Eyez On Me is directed Benny Boom (Wild for the Night, Next Day Air).
