Will Ant-Man shoot straight after the Thor sequel?

Marvel got the formula right when they chose to shoot several of their superhero films all in one cohesive universe. “Phase One” worked out beautifully, leading to the blockbuster smash that was The Avengers.

Phase Two is now in development, With Thor, Captain America and Iron Man starring in new sequels, while the Guardians of the Galaxy will be making their own debut. So where does that leave Ant-Man? Is he Phase 2 material?

The future Ant-Man director unveiled some test footage over at the San Diego Comic Con earlier this year, much to the delight of many a fan. It was unclear though, whether Wright intended to create his Ant-Man film during Phase 2, or after the inevitable Avengers sequel that would kick off Phase Three, but it appears that he’ll start filming straight after Thor: The Dark World wraps up.

The Latino Review, which has an excellent track record with Marvel movie rumours turning out to be true, claims that Wright will do more pre-production on Ant-Man, while filming The Worlds End, leaving him ample time to start creating the film once he finishes that upcoming sci-fi comedy.

Disney and Marvel have issued no comment, but the idea of working on two films at the same time isn’t too hard to imagine, as numerous directors have split their focus across multiple projects many a time.

And after all that work Wright has put into Ant- Man, he’s got a headstart on it already. Which means that we might see some Pym particles shrinking and growing around in the Avengers sequel.

I know you mentioned in the past that you haven’t followed Marvel comics in a while, but Hank Pym aka Ant-Man aka Goliath aka Giant-Man aka Yellowjacket has been a major Marvel character for decades. One of the main Avengers for a long time, he created Vision, created Ultron and famously slapped around his wife, the Wasp, in one of Marvel’s most controversial stories

He may not be as well known as Captain America or Spider-Man with the non-comic crowd, but to be fair, neither was Iron Man before his 2008 movie.

        What’s that sound?

It’s Marvel scraping the bottom of a barrel!

LOL, nah, that’s not bottom of the barrel. Now if I see a Squirrel Girl or Misty Knight movie being announced…
