WWE Monday Night RAW took place from the Sprint Center Arena in Kansas City, Missouri. Here’s all the action that went down.

The Miz and Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose interrupted “The Highlight Reel”

RAW April 24 (2)

WWE talk shows. You can usually bet on two things happening in them: Interruptions and challenges being thrown down to anyone on the stage with a host who likes to wax lyrical about themselves. That was the setup for Chris Jericho’s return of the Highlight Reel, as the initial plan was to discuss his upcoming United States championship defense against Kevin Owens at Payback.

Instead, Jericho got a pair of interruptions from The Miz and Intercontinental champ Dean Ambrose, as the two superstars tried to turn the Highlight Reel into Miz TV and the Ambrose Asylum respectively. Ambrose wanted to make good with Jericho however, and offered him a new jacket for the one he had trashed some many months back. The Miz was the wet towel in this arrangement, so the solution?

A Dirty Deeds from Ambrose to the Miz, while his wife Maryse earned a spot on the List of Jericho.

Raw Tag Team Champion Matt Hardy defeated Sheamus

RAW April 24 (3)

Last week saw one half of the extreme Hardy Boyz face off against the number one challengers in a singles match. This week, Matt Hardy stepped up to the plate to give Sheamus a run for his money. Thanks to some ringside antics from Jeff Hardy and Cesaro, Sheamus quickly fell to a Twist of Fate that left the current RAW tag team champs with plenty of momentum heading into Payback.

Austin Aries and Gentleman Jack Gallagher defeated WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville and TJ Perkins

RAW April 24 (4)

The King of the Cruiserweighs and his knight TJ Perkins faced some stiff opposition to the throne this week on RAW, as the partnership between the two hadn’t yet managed to produce some solid teamwork between their considerable in-rin skills. Austin Aries and Gentleman Jack were another story, as the impromptu team managed to pick up a win with their odd styles, leaving Neville to nurse the mother of all headaches thanks to a headbutt from Gallagher while TJP suffered a Discus Five-Arm that put him down for the count.

Kalisto defeated Braun Strowman in a Dumpster Match

RAW April 24 (5)

If Braun Strowman wanted a challenge on RAW, then he definitely got one when he was inserted into the first ever Dumpster Match against Kalisto. The rules were simple: Victory would come when the opponent was thrown into a dumpster. The Monster amongst men looked to have this match in the bag as he utterly demolished Kalisto, but the luchador pulled out a sneaky wriggle from the clutches of Strowman and managed to slip the giant into a dumpster.

A helluva win, but not without consequences as a very angry Braun Strowman quickly exited the dumpster and began destroying the former US champ, throwing him into the dumpster and then rolling it off the stage. Talk about taking out the trash.

Dana Brooke defeated Alicia Fox

RAW April 24 (6)

You know, I honestly have no idea what’s going on in this RAW angle, save that involves Emma as well. Dana Brooke got the win then. Alright, but can we also talk about how Asuka is one of the longest reigning champs ever in the WWE? ASUKA RULES!

Finn Bálor, Seth Rollins and Big Cass defeated Samoa Joe, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson

RAW April 24 (7)

The heels were in action even before their match kicked off on RAW, as they decided to tip the odds in their favour by taking Enzo Amore out of the equation of their six-man tag team match. General Manager Kurt Angle had a different idea instead: Adding Finn Balor to the team of Seth Rollins and Big Cass. The introduction of the first-ever WWE Universal champ did wonders for the team, as they managed to overcome a vicious assault from Samoa Joe, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

RAW April 24 (8)

Rallying back at the last minute, Seth Rollins switched from Pedigree to flying knee, ending Anderson for the night and earning the win while his team ran interference.

Sasha Banks defeated Alexa Bliss via Count-out

RAW April 24 (9)

Bayley may have her hands full with a championship defense against Alexa Bliss at Payback this Sunday, but she decided to get the ball rolling by helping out Sasha Banks last night in her match against the wicked witch. Banks had taken early control of the match, flustering Bliss at every turn to the point where the former Smackdown champ decided to walk out on her. Wrong choice Bliss, as Bayley was waiting backstage and threw her back into the ring, just in time for her to receive a Banks Statement.

Apollo Crews defeated Curt Hawkins

RAW April 24 (10)

Sure Curt Hawkins losing yet another open challenge match may be old news by now, but the real story was that Apollo Crews was back and ready to deliver with a match-ending Sitting Spinout Powerbomb. And then Titus O’Neil got involved, as he was still trying his best to get Crews to join the Titus Brand. Well alright then.

Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose and Chris Jericho vs. The Miz ended in a No Contest

RAW April 24 (11)

Main event time! The Miz was pretty much ready for a beatdown, as just about everybody on RAW refused to be his tag team partner. Well, besides one guy: Bray Wyatt. The Eater of Worlds popped up in the latter half of The Miz’s match, saving the day and delivering a Sister Abigail to Dean Ambrose that left Chris Jericho at the mercy of the two.

Mercy which happened to be in short supply, as the match was called off while Jericho was introduced to the boots and fists of Wyatt and The Miz. Another Sister Abigail followed and put Jericho down for the count, while The Miz also felt the effects of a deal with the devil as he ate a Sister Abigail in turn as well.
