It was double duty for the Viper on Smackdown last night, as Rusev decided to hit the ring. Determined to avenge his ten-second Summerslam loss against Orton, the two squared off. Tye Dillinger’s attack prevented Baron Corbin from answering AJ Styles’ United States Open Challenge

Smackdown Sep 19 (5)

AJ Styles may be the US champ on Smackdown, but it looks like a war between Tye Dillinger and Baron Corbin is breaking out in pursuit of the belt. Having sabotaged each other’s attempts to defeat Styles and claim the title, the Perfect 10 decided to get some payback against Corbin as he answered the open challenge of Styles.

Injuring the Lone Wolf’s leg, Corbin entered the match injured and soon found himself in the grip of a Calf Crusher from Styles and their championship match scrapped.

With Charlotte Flair back in the ring, it was time to determine who would face Natalya for the title. After some drama in the ring that involved a few other challengers from the locker room, General Manager Daniel Bryan greenlit a Fatal 4-Way as the main event for the night, with the winner earning a chance to win the belt at Hell In A Cell.

The New Day def. Hype Bros

Smackdown Sep 19 (7)

Kicking off their new reign as tag team champs last night, the New Day made short work of the Hype Bros, locking the Midnight Hour on the Ultimate Broski as the Usos watched on.

Charlotte Flair def. Becky Lynch, Tamina and Naomi to challenge for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WWE Hell in a Cell

Smackdown Sep 19 (1)

With a shot at glory on the line, the best women in the Smackdown LIVE locker room collided in a Fatal 4-Way that had bodies flying everywhere. The match could have gone either way at any time, but in a sequence of events that saw Tamina land a top-rope splash on Becky Lynch, Naomi decided to interrupt the count and the two went at it.

Charlotte Flair got the final licks in, dropping a huge kick on Tamina and earning her spot at Hell In A Cell as the number one contender to Natalya’s championship.
