WWE Smackdown Live took place from the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, Canada. Here’s all the action that went down.

Naomi relinquished the SmackDown Women’s Championship

Smackdown February 21 (2)

Poor Naomi. After a battle with Alexa Bliss that saw her go through hell to become the Smackdown Women’s Champion, the master of the glow managed to injure her knee. With a serious injury that would make her unable to defend her championship within the usual 30-day period required, Naomi had no choice but to hand over her belt to General Manager Daniel Bryan.

A move that brought Alexa Bliss out from the backstage area, as she demanded that her belt be returned to her immediately. Daniel Bryan had a different idea rather: A championship match right then and there against none other than Becky Lynch.

And what a match it was! Lass kicker met wicked witch, as Bliss and Lynch were hellbent on reclaiming the Smackdown Women’s championship. Putting up a hell of a fight, Bliss pulled out a dangerous throat strike that gave her the chance to roll Lynch up by the tights, earning her the three-count from an unaware referee.

Mickie James joined the post-match celebration, but her attempts to get a few cheap shots in at Lynch backfired when the fiery redhead sent her packing for the night.

American Alpha defeated Breezango

American Alpha is riding high right now thanks to a monumentous win at Elimination Chamber in the mother of all tag team title defenses. With a hard-fought victory over the Ascension last week as well, American Alpha increased their winning streak even further, overcoming an ambush by Fandango and Tyler Breeze to earn another win.

But that’s when The Usos appeared, as they were present from within the crowd and hungry for the gold. A war is coming…

The 10-Man Battle Royal to determine the No. 1 Contender to Bray Wyatt’s WWE Championship at WrestleMania ended in controversy

Smackdown February 21 (1)

With Randy Orton pledging allegiance to Bray Wyatt and vacating his Royal Rumble privilege of challenging the Eater of Worlds at Wrestlemania for the WWE Championship, it was time to find a new number one contender. In a huge battle royale, ten superstars clashed for the chance to head to the main event at Wrestlemania 33, with the final two warriors in the ring being none other than Luke Harper and AJ Styles.

But in a who-woulda-thunk-it moment, Both Styles and Harper managed to be eliminated at the same time from the ring, resulting in a draw between the two. The only solution? A number one contender match next week between the two that general manager Daniel Bryan organised, to decide just who’ll challenge Bray Wyatt at Wrestlemania 33!
