The 900th episode of Smackdown took place from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Here’s all the action that went down before Survivor Series rolled up.

The Miz defeated Dolph Ziggler to win the Intercontinental Championship

Smackdown November 15 (2)

With Survivor Series arriving this Sunday, Dolph Ziggler has a lot on his shoulders right now. Not only would his Intercontinental Championship be contested, but it would be a rival from RAW that he’d be facing. Or so we all thought, as the opening match of the 900th episode of Smackdown ended in tragedy for Ziggler.

In an absolutely heated confrontation with his nemesis The Miz, Ziggler looked like he was on the verge of victory and ready to hit Survivor Series with a solid win under his belt. Managing to overcome interference from the Spirit Squad, it would be Maryse who spelt doom for Ziggler and give the Miz the edge needed to reclaim his legendary belt.

Kalisto defeated Oney Lorcan

Smackdown November 15 (3)

With gold up for grabs this Sunday against RAW’s Cruiserweight champion The Brian Kendrick, Kalisto readied his body for action in a match against NXT’s Oney Lorcan. High-flying action was the name of the game in this Smackdown bout, as Lorcan launched an arsenal of moves at the wily Luchador. But years of ring experience saw Kalisto emerge victorious with a well-placed Salida Del Solto . One, two and three, it was all over.

Nikki Bella vs. Carmella ended in a No Contest

Smackdown November 15 (4)

There’s no love lost between Nikki Bella and Carmella, but last night saw the Smackdown Survivor Series Women’s team rally behind each other after having to deal with a RAW invasion. With Charlotte present in the audience, the two combatants quickly found themselves tangling with the queen and her entire team. But the Smackdown team rallied behind Nikki and Carmella, joining the brouhaha and starting a massive brawl in the middle of the ring that sent bodies flying.

American Alpha, The Hype Bros, The Usos and Breezango defeated The Spirit Squad, The Vaudevillains, The Ascension and The Headbangers – 16-Man Tag Team Match

Smackdown November 15 (5)

Just how much abuse can the Smackdown ring take? Well last night saw an entire 16 men on the apron, ready to tear each other a new one as American Alpha, The Hype Bros, The Usos and Breezango faced The Spirit Squad, The Vaudevillains, The Ascension and The Headbangers. And don;t forget current Smackdown tag team champs Rhyno and Heath Slater, who were also present!

The action was fast and furious to say the least, but Grand Amplitude from American Alpha on Thrasher saw a win for the faces.

Edge hosted “The Cutting Edge” with Team SmackDown LIVE

Smackdown November 15 (6)

With 900 episodes of Smackdown in the bag, it was time for a legend or two to make an appearance to celebrate the milestone. And who better than the Rated-R superstar, Edge? The Cutting Edge was back, and the man himself was ready to host the Smackdown Survivor Series main team, ready to prep them and motivate them for the massive battle ahead when all of a sudden the lights cut out.

And a familiar bell began to toll…

The Undertaker returned to SmackDown LIVE

Smackdown November 15 (1)

Because the Deadman was back!

Staring at the souls of the Smackdown team before him, the Undertaker was back and he had a few words to say. First was his approval of his last Wrestlemania opponent Shane McMahon leading the team into battle. But second? An announcement that the Undertaker was back, “taking souls and digging holes.”

But the Deadman’s last words were his most profound. Fear not Team RAW at Survivor Series. Fear the wrath of the Phenom should team Smackdown lose this Sunday…

Didn’t matter to me who won Raw vs Smackdown. Now I want Raw to win so we can see Taker going after Styles lol – perhaps a casket match? And when AJ is about to put Taker in, Ambrose or Cena pops out and puts AJ in the casket instead 🙂
