So we had that happy press release the other day from the UK saying that since the Xbox 360 price cut the sales had actually doubled.
Well the real stats are in and they have in fact doubled, however they are still not good enough to overtake the PS3 or the Wii.
In fact the new 360 sales plus the PS3 sales don’t even touch the Wii. That thing truly is a monster.
Now unfortunately the actual figures have not been released but according to a spokesperson the 360 and PS3 sales have been extremely close in some of the weeks but all in all the Xbox 360 has been relegated to third place behind the PS3.
Don’t expect things to change with the release of GTA IV either, the PlayStation brand is a mainstay in Europe and unless Microsoft gets some more blockbuster exclusives they are going to struggle to claw back their second spot.
