American and Japanese sales

The US August sales data is in and it has been a good time for the 360 and a bad time for the PS3… while the PS3 is still holding strong above the 100k mark it is not making any inroads into competition.

We will just ignore the Wii killing everything in its path again 🙂

Wii 403k
360 276k
PS3 130k

But never fear PS3 fans the Japanese sales figures for a week in September are in. To compare I am going to be kind and multiply the sales by 5 for a 5 week month and see how they stack up against the US sales…

Leading by a huge margin still is the Wii, followed by the PS3 with the 360 onyl sneaking in because I need to compare against the US data…

Wii 146k
PS3  66k
360    6k

So all in all the Wii is by far the best selling console with the 360 following up strongly and the PS3 80k behind it… I am looking forward to see if the Japanese sales figures are affected much by the Halo 3 juggernaut.

Halo isnt much of a Jap attraction. I just dont see the fascination of the Japanese market for MS, they could have very well invested their money elsewhere for better rewards.
