American sales figures 29th March 2008

Quick note on yesterdays numbers, VGChartz was acting weird yesterday and a lot of different numbers were coming out. It seems to have stabilised now with each platform getting a couple of thousand more units but staying in the same position.

Onto this weeks American figures

Wii  – 74,102
PS3 – 71,700
360 – 66,461

To be perfectly honest I expect these figures to be changing again as they just seem to be a little to low but I guess we will have to wait and see.

I had a chat with Microsoft yesterday and apparently the 360 is still suffering from worldwide shortages, so things may change quite dramatically in the near future.

    worldwide 😉

Honestly though I have noticed that the Xbox is a hard item to get hold off locally at the moment… Most shops only have a few and a lot of shops are completely out.

LOL ! There’s a podcast on IGN called ” Tech Fettish ” where they talk a little in the way of numbers from time to time. MS are citing shortages. They reckon this is not the case as most retails stores they tried had LOADS of stock

    Got to love PR spins

Well if there are shortages, then MS is really stupid. It almost seems like they have decided to just hand things over to sony!

As for local, Kalahari have plenty, as do Game, as do Makro, as do Incredible Connection

Wazzzzzzup Abe!… Hows the HDR this morning? 😉

@hilt- the situation is not the same here in Durbs 🙁
This stock shortage thing is getting to a point of stupidity right now. There has been shortages from February.

Well MS has said that they have almost reached 2 million console sales in Europe since the price cut there. Read this:

Hey Fox1 – if that is the case, best let Kalahari know. They ship nationwide and could make a killing

Kalahari has been advertising their consoles quite heavily.

I saw some ads for the PS3, 360 and Wii on TV a couple of times.

Hilt, from my experience there don’t seem to be any pros anywhere in Cape Town, I’ve been trying to get a swap unit for a mate and the only unit around is the Arcade.

As to reason for the shortage, Microsoft lost 2 of it’s manufacturing partners in the run up to the price cut, they’re trying to ramp others and stockpile for GTA4 at the same time.

    My 2c.
