If you’d been paying careful attention over the last couple of days you may have noticed a few links and tweets being sent out linking to a website www.themovies.co.za

TheMovies is our brand new movie site that is already picking up quite the following thanks to some incredible trailers, reviews and news stories being posted by our team of seasoned writers.

As the title suggests the site will be entirely based around movies and movie related goodness such as dissecting cryptic trailers, reviews and general news.

To launch the site we’ve added two incredibly talented writers to our stable in the form of Noelle Adams who has been maintaining her own successful blog pfangirl for the past couple of years and who has contributed to Lazygamer over the years on and off as well.

The second new writer is Cape Town based Kervyn Cloete who has also contributed to Lazygamer previously along with a multitude of other local websites.

Both these people are the most knowledgeable movie buffs that I know and I’m truly excited to see where we can take this new venture.

Joining these 2 will be me, who doesn’t know much about movies but I do have some history in the industry and Darryn Bonthuys who we love to abuse as being the new guy but in reality is one of the hardest working writers I’ve had the pleasure of working with.

TheMovies uses the same disqus commenting system as here so you can click straight through and start interacting with our new colleagues.

I’m expecting big things from this new venture so if you’re interested in movies please help us out by following the official twitter account (TheMoviesCoZa) or following our Facebook account and letting everyone know about this new site that’s going to change movie reporting in South Africa for the better.

If there is something specific you would like us to cover let us know here or there and we’ll see what can be done.
