Ballistix Masters offers R150 000 esports tournament

Ballistix Masters, which was established back in 2015 as the Crucial Cup which back then offered one of the largest online prize pools for both Dota 2 and Battlefield 4. The Ballistix Masters has now grown in numbers, and boast four total online competitions. The new tournament, however, will have a LAN final. Registrations open on December 1st 2017.

According to their prize pool announcement, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will only have an online portion for the event, with a smaller prize pool. Both Battlefield and Dota 2 will have larger prize pools and will feature at a live LAN event starting early next year. The dates and venue are yet to be confirmed.

The prize pool total will be R150 000 and have the following breakdown:

CS:GO – Online only – R30 000.

  • 1st Place – R15 000
  • 2nd Place – R10 000
  • 3rd Place – R5 000

Dota 2 – R60 000

  • 1st Place – R25 000
  • 2nd Place – R15 000
  • 3rd Place – R10 000
  • 4th Place – R5 000
  • 5th Place – R3 000
  • 6th Place – R2 000

Dota 2 – R60 000

  • 1st Place – R25 000
  • 2nd Place – R15 000
  • 3rd Place – R10 000
  • 4th Place – R5 000
  • 5th Place – R3 000
  • 6th Place – R2 000

Ballistix, and their former Crucial Cup, have been one of the only tournament hosts who have featured Battlefield, an esport which boasts one of the largest and most active communities. Battlefield has fallen off the competitive radar both locally and internationally, but the Ballistix Masters will keep it alive!

    Prize pool could rather go to another game or even a possible console title.
