BF: Bad Company – Dog Tag Lag?

The Battlefield: Bad Company website has addressed an issue concerning dog tags in the game.

For those of you who don’t know what I am on about, let me explain. In Bad Company’s multiplayer, if you knife an opponent, you get his dog tags. Now, the game has achievements for collecting certain amounts of unique dog tags and that has apparently cause some issues for players.

DICE/EA report that:

“We’ve been looking into the lag issue that some of you have been experiencing lately which specifically concerns the collection of Dog Tags.

Currently collecting either:

– more than 300 Dog Tags in total
or
– more than 100 unique Dog Tags

will result in users experiencing lag on their console.

Until we resolve the issue (no ETA yet, we’re working on it) permanently we have decided to implement a temporary fix. This temporary fix will only trigger if you have reached either of the two Dog Tag limits mentioned above.

Should you reach one of the above limits then the temporary fix will be triggered and your number of collected Dog Tags will no longer increase. However: you will still gain points for the Dog Tag kill as you normally would.

We’ll work on fixing this asap, but keep in mind it could be a little while.

We realize it’s not the ideal situation, but don’t worry, keep racking up those Dog Tag Kill Points!”

  1. This isn’t the only achievement lag the game seems to have. I’ve reached level 25…and have much more than the required 37000 points but I still don’t have my “General of the Army’ achievement. I have contacted EA support about this, will keep you posted.
